Diagnosing Pitt State & Missouri Southern's Home Losses Saturday

In the first 335 minutes they played this season, Pitt State outscored opponents 230-86. As for the last 85 - opponents have outscored them 94-21. Saturday at Carnie Smith Stadium it was all about the big plays, as three of Missouri Western quarterback Tyler Partridge's nine completions were for touchdowns of 35+ yards.

Across the state line in Joplin, Missouri Southern's offense struggled, fumbling the ball six times on option exchanges and completed just one pass on the afternoon. Quarterback Kellen Cox is never one to make excuses, but a bum left shoulder certainly did not help.
