Pitt State went back to their roots and rushed the ball 62 times in their win over Truman State on the road. The victory snaps the Gorillas' two-game losing streak and keeps their outside shot at a postseason berth alive.

Their rival Missouri Southern came up short on the road to Lindenwood in a 45-30 shootout. The Lions opened with a 90-yard kickoff return from Travis Hurd. But their defense ultimately let them down giving up three plays of 60 yards or more.

In JUCO football, the 8th ranked Golden Norsemen from NEO captured the conference title with a win over 7th ranked Navarro 26-24.
