MCDONALD CO. -- Democrat incumbent Rob Evenson and Republican Mike Hall are both seeking election to the office of sheriff in McDonald county. Hall has worked at the sheriff's office for 15 years in many different positions. He also has his EMT license and has worked as a resource officer for the McDonald County High School. Evenson has served as sheriff for two terms as part of his 23 years in law enforcement. He has his bachelor's degree in criminal justice and says he wants to keep his office's high crime solving rate for the county.

"We want to be able to solve the cases when they become a victim of the crime," Evenson says. "We want to be able to recover property that is stolen, solve those cases where people are victims of violent crime."

"Getting a school resource officer established back with the school district and working with them actively," says Hall. "Getting the deputies more involved in the community and also making sure they are wearing their uniforms and protective vests."

Both candidates agree controlling the area's drug problem is a top priority.
