Pitt State extended their winning streak of Missouri Southern to 19 consecutive games with a 26-14 victory over the Lions in Joplin. Following a defensive battle in the first half that saw the Gorillas take a 10-7 lead into the break, the overcame an early second half deficit to win.

Missouri Southern senior N'Ronte Threatt had a game-high 144 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Despite just 72 yards through the air for the Gorillas, three scores on the ground from John Brown, Luke Rampy and Jason Spradling gave them the offense needed to survive.

In Class4 high school ball, Webb City continued to dominate and won their 43rd straight game with a 35-6 win at home over Sullivan. Special teams played a big role in the victory. Nate Brown blocked a field goal and punt which resulted in points for the Cardinals. They'll be on the road in St. Louis next Saturday to take on St. Mary's.

In Class 3, Monett put up huge numbers in their win at home over Eldon. The Cubs took a 21-0 lead in the 1st quarter with touchdowns from Kurran Blamey, Aaron Hall and Kyle Woods. They never looked back from there and won 49-6.

Lamar was equally impressive in the Class 2 Quarterfinals against Liberty-Mountain View on the road. Two scores each from Jared Beshore and Levi Petersen put the Tigers up 28-7 en route to their 55-14 victory.
