The wait was worth it for the Webb City boys. After severe weather in Arkansas set their opponents departure back several hours, the Cardinals game was moved from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It was the best game of day one at the Neosho Holiday Classic, too, as Webb advanced with a 10 point win against West Memphis.

In other boys action, Carthage, Neosho and McDonald County all took losses in their first game out (although Carthage advanced in the winners bracket regardless, based on a forfeiture from their originally scheduled opponent).

Plus, the Lady Cardinals beat Pierce City, the Carthage Lady Tigers beat Purdy, the McDonald County girls beat Neosho and more.
