Weir Man Arrested for Allegedly Manufacturing Meth

WEIR, KS -- Winton Baker, 61, was arrested during a traffic stop near Scammon, KS Friday night. During a consensual search of the vehicle, Cherokee county sheriff's deputies discovered an open whiskey container, along with components of a suspected meth lab, such as chemicals, equipment and a quantity of finished methamphetamine product. Baker is being held for manufacturing and possessing the narcotic and drug paraphernalia, while also transporting an open container. His bond has been set at $50,000.
