Allen Barbre new he was going to be drafted this weekend, the only question was when and where. Around 11:15 AM Sunday he found out, when the Green Bay Packers took him in the 4th round of the NFL Draft. The 6-4, 305 lb offensive tackle was the 119th overall pick and the second NCAA Division II player selected. Lane wide receiver Jacoby Jones was taken in the 3rd round by Houston. Barbre is the highest drafted player in Missouri Southern history and is the highest drafted player to come out of the MIAA since 2003. The East Newton High School grad was the only offensive lineman drafted by the Packers this year, which bodes well for his chances to earn not only a roster spot but a starting job as well. Barbre will fly into Green Bay Thursday and participate in the Packers mini-camp on Friday and Saturday.
