Rapalino Wins Briarbrook Invitational

By: Andy Searcy
Updated: June 10, 2007
The tournament was a few holes shorter than it was supposed to be, but Lou Rapalino captured his fifth Briarbrook Invitational title on Sunday. Severe weather forced officials to stop the tournament before most of the competitors finished their rounds. Eventually the tournament was called, they took the players front nine score and added that to their first two day total to determine the winner. Rapalino was declared the winner after his front nine score of one under par 35, the Parsons native finished the tournament at 5 under par. 2007 City Champion Brian Black fired a four under par 32 on the front nine to finish in a tie for second with Tyler Smith at one under par. Jim Lucas, Bill Curry, and Chad Lind all finished the tournament at even par. Rapalino has won four of the last five Briarbrook Invitational tournaments.
