The Missouri Southern men went on the road to Maryville with their fate
in their own hands - but fell short of a conference title with a three
point heartbreaking loss.
They trailed by as many as 14 in the second half, but came back to tie the game twice in the closing minutes. The Lions had an opportunity to take the lead on a Keane Thomann lay-up with less than 10 seconds remaining, but the shot glanced off the rim. After two Bearcat free throws, they had one more chance, but a Matt Everson three point shot just missed.
MoSo finishes the regular season as the 4th place team in the MIAA, and will face 5 seed Fort Hays State Friday at 2:15 p.m. in the MIAA Tournament. The Lions beat Hays in both regular season meetings.
