JOPLIN, MO.--- Year after year people make resolutions to lose weight, but have trouble sticking to their plan. Personal trainers help customize diet and help clients reach realistic goals.

Experts say if you fall off the wagon, not to be hard on yourself, achieving the goal is possible. KODE spoke with a local resident who had reached her weight loss goal last year and wishes to keep going this year.

"Pretty much, stay focused and keep on working out, and definitely lose some more weight," states Marlon, New Year's Resolution Maker.

Trainers at the Joplin Family Y say to focus on small lifestyle changes that are possible for your daily routine. They recommend staying active and eating 5 to 6 small nutritious meals throughout the day.
