CARTHAGE, MO.--- The "Hugs Project" is based in Carthage and they ship more than 35 boxes a month to soldiers overseas. Some of the common items include snack cakes, condiments, and cool ties that the solider wear around their necks to cool down. Over the years they have received several letters and e-mails from the soldiers thanking them for their hard work.

"They put their lives on hold. They're in danger for us. It's the least you can do take one day a week. Do something for them," says Sarah Black, Hugs Project.

The group is always needing volunteers and more supplies. If you'd like to help, you can call 417-793-0720.
