JOPLIN, MO--- Missouri Southern State University Campus Activity Board put on a Mardi Gras event in celebration of Fat Tuesday. The students had the chance to decorate their own masks and eat king cake.

Prizes were also given away to students who found a small plastic baby in their cake. Organizers say it gives students a fun break in-between lectures.

"We have prizes. If they get the baby in the cake, which is supposed to mean good luck for the year, and so we're giving them gift cards. We're just trying to give students something to do on their breaks," said Craig Gullett, Coordinator, MSSU Student Activities.

There are other activities planned on campus as part of Healthy Relationships Week. It's open to all MSSU students at no charge. The schedule of events include, relationship classes, Mardi Gras Celebration, Valentines Day activities, speed dating, and lunches.
