Central Missouri Decks #11 Pitt State, 83-21
WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Central Missouri State University jumped out to a 34-0 first quarter lead and decked 11th-ranked Pittsburg State University 83-21 in the regular season finale for both teams Saturday (Nov. 5).
The Gorillas (8-3, 6-2 MIAA), needing a win over the Mules (7-3, 5-3 MIAA) to assure themselves a berth in the NCAA-II playoffs, now must await the NCAA selection annoucement at approximately Noon (CST) Sunday on ESPNews.
CMSU handed Pitt State its worst loss in the programs modern history, scoring the most points since the Gorillas surrendered 104 points to Missouri-Rolla on Nov. 7, 1914.
Pitt State was victimized by six turnovers in the game. The Mules turned all six miscues directly in touchdowns, scoring 41 points off turnovers.
Will Caldwell rushed 22 times for 276 yards and five touchdowns to lead CMSU, which piled up 428 rushing yards and 704 total yards in the game. Toby Korrodi also completed 23 of 28 passes for 276 yards and five touchdowns for the Mules.

Race, who suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter of Pitt States win over Northwest Missouri State University last week, took the field in just two offensive series for the Gorillas.
