Brad's Beat: Carthage Salvation Army Thanksgiving Baskets

watch video
CARTHAGE, MO.--- This year the organization is helping 130 families put a traditional Thanksgiving meal on the table. People lined up 2 hours before the distribution and the line stretched several blocks. Many of the families say with the tough economy and rising food costs it's hard to afford Thanksgiving.

"Well let me tell we wouldn't have a turkey. We wouldn't have no food for Thanksgiving cause the price of groceries has gone up," states Jamie Holder, First in Line.

The Carthage Salvation Army's work isn't done yet, volunteers are now gearing up for their Christmas baskets.
