Kellogg Lake Park New Disc Golf Course
CARTHAGE, MO.--- Carthage City Council leaders approved a budget amendment at last night's meeting. $6,000 out of the parks storm water fund will go to building a disc golf course at Kellogg Lake Park. Leaders approved $9,500 from the civic enhancement fund to go toward replacing the fountain.
The parks director says they've tried to fix the fountain twice but it's beyond repair. He says he's received much support for the disc golf course.
"We've had so many calls, all of them positive. Everybody's looking forward to it, and looking around to other communities they're everywhere. It's become very popular and it's a good outdoor activity," states Alan Bull, Parks and Recreations Director.
The parks director expects the fountain and course to be complete in the Spring.
