watch video
GIRARD, KS.--- Dozens of Crawford County workers are signed up to start shedding the pounds for the Governors Weight Loss Challenge. They have been divided into teams of 5. The challenge starts today and continues until May 15th.

So far, there are 50 workers involved, that's a total of 10 teams. Each team will weigh in every 2 weeks and track their weight loss online. Participants say it's a very fun way to get in the habit of exercising and eating healthy.

"It makes a little camaraderie for the employees at the county level and little competition never hurts," states Janis Goedeke, Crawford County Health Department Director.

The county's winning department will get a grand prize of $500. Anyone can get involved in the challenge. There is a guide on the Governor's Weight Loss Website. To view the website, click here.
