JPD Calls for Service Drop in 2012
JOPLIN, MO-- Joplin police see a drop in calls for service last year. They logged 84,020 calls in 2012... a much lower total than in 2011. J.P.D. topped 90,000 calls that year, nearly seven percent higher. Joplin officers point out that the tornado hit in 2011 ... which could account for much of the difference. But the 2012 total is still lower than even the years leading up to that - with 88,000 in 2010 and 87,000 in 2009.
Joplin isn't alone in the decrease. Webb City Police also saw a significant drop in calls for service... while in Carthage, those numbers grew last year.
