Cruise Industry Possible Setbacks

NEOSHO, MO.--- Carl Junction resident Anna Hill just returned from a Carnival Cruise this past Sunday, it went smoothly. Although, she says those on board the Triumph Cruise lived through a terrible incident, the passengers should be grateful to be safe at home.

"I feel that we were fortunate to have the experience that we did, and even those that had that terrible experience, there's a lot of people who have lost their lives in catastrophes and those people were blessed that they didn't," states Anna Hill, Carnival Cruise Traveler.

Neosho travel agent and owner of GalazSea Cruises and Tour, Ken Mayer says even though what happened was unfortunate, cruises continue to be one of the safest and most regulated means of travel available.

"There's been a lot of attention. It's going to impact people, but the overall track record in safety is incredible. So, it would not stop us from recommending or encourage people to consider a cruise for a vacation," says Ken Mayer, Owner, GalazSea Cruises and Tour.

The owner says because of the Triumph Cruise accident, he expects cruise prices to drop in the near future.

"I know in the world we live in, that is exactly what could happen. If it does impact it in a negative fashion, we could see pricing affect it and it's kind of a win win for the customer," says Ken Mayer.

For Anna, that's welcome news. "We've already booked another cruise, so it hasn't stopped us."
