JOPLIN, MO.--- More than 40 College Heights High School students participated in the 15th Annual Science and Engineering Fair. Many of the projects were inspired by artist Rube Goldberg who would draw elaborate cartoons just to complete a simple task.

This year's goal was to turn off a light bulb in 2 minutes by using everyday items in a series of actions. The school's physics students judged each project on timing, smoothness, and creativity.

"Rube Goldbergs really brings out a lot of creativity. It's really been blast to watch how much the kids get into the projects and how they challenge one another and come up with really unique ideas," says Jean Miller, College Heights Science Teacher.

The winners of tonight's Rube Goldberg projects were seniors Kristen Crumpacker and Hannah Laws.
