Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit The Way We Worked

watch video
FRANKLIN, KS.--- The Miners Hall Museum in Franklin will be hosting the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit for the month of May. It's theme is "The Way We Worked" and will showcase industrial artifacts from across the country.

Miners Hall is just 1 of 6 museums in Kansas to host the exhibit. 1,000 visitors have already signed up to tour the exhibit. Smithsonian directors say they are in major need of volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly.

"We probably just couldn't do that traveling exhibit without volunteers because the cleanup alone is high volume, plus, there are people who are going to want to know more about the exhibit," said Debby Close, Smithsonian Co-Chair.

Volunteers can do anything from giving museum tours to dusting artifacts. For information on how to help, you can call Phyllis Bitner at 620-249-9333, or sign up online, click here.
