watch video
CARTHAGE, MO.--- Volunteers with "Here to Serve" stuffed boxes with items like magazines, beef jerky, baked goods, and cards today. The packages will be sent to about 16 soldiers and a unit stationed in Afghanistan. The organization has been collecting donations since November. The director began this project after her son was deployed several years ago.

"I just love that we can send that little bit of home to them, and they just love it so much. We get back such a great report from them about how much they enjoy this and how it just made their Christmas," says Della Bergen, Here to Serve Director.

They plan to mail the packages tomorrow so they'll make it in time for Christmas.
