Run Training

JOPLIN -- Volunteers with the Joplin YMCA hosted a "Run Day" Saturday. Instructors walked future marathon runners through the basics of setting up a run program to train for long-distance marathons. Coaches say running is great exercise, but running too far too soon could lead to problems.

"With adults we tend to have more chances of getting injured, so a lot of the things that we teach are ways to help people build their running program to stay injury free," says YMCA running coach Karen King.
