JOPLIN -- The Southwest Missouri Democrats discussed the issue of the right to work during their monthly breakfast at the Joplin Community Center Saturday. Speakers from the Teamsters Union, Allied Industrial Workers and Laborers Union of North America shared their opinions on how unions are beneficial to the state's economy. Organizers say their goal is to get the public educated on the important role unions play in America.
"It's very important," says Archie Robbins of Allied Industrial Workers. "They're a grass root meeting, and that's where you start the whole process. You have to start with a few people and role."
The group will meet in another month to discuss more issues.
