MIAMI -- Members of the Peoria tribe celebrated the groundbreaking of their new 6,500 square foot clubhouse at the Peoria Ridge golf course Saturday. The clubhouse will have a banquet room with a capacity of 175 people, locker rooms for both genders, an improved pro shop and a bar and grill. Tribe leaders say the new addition to the golf course will benefit the entire community.
"There's always facilities that are needed in communities, and one of the items that we need in this community is a banquet area for smaller groups, 200 and less," says Peoria tive chief John Froman.
The new club house will cost $1.3 million to build and tribe leaders expect the construction to be finished sometime in September.
