Tennis Play Day
JOPLIN -- Community Support Services of southwest Missouri and instructors from the US Tennis Association showed this group the basics of tennis Saturday. From serving their first ace to hitting their first lob, there was no shortage of smiles for these tennis players. Instructors say they want to make sure everyone gets a chance to have fun.
"We don't want to exclude anyone from the sport of tennis," says USTA representative Scott Howes. "It's a great fame for kids young and old, whether you're eight or eighty-eight, tennis is a sport that can be played for a lifetime."
The Community Support Services of Missouri helps more than 1,400 people with special needs in southwest Missouri each year.
