Carterville Chili Feed Fundraiser

CARTERVILLE, MO.--- Carterville park leaders hope a fundraiser will help them spruce up their park. City workers are currently building a cantina and restroom building at Comets Park along Route 66.

Park committee leaders say it's been an ongoing project to fix it up. They are holding a chili feed this weekend to continue the park's growth.

"So many people have donated to help us out with the growth of this park, and we're going to continue it. We hope a lot of people travel through and come on through and enjoy it," said Judy Martin, Carterville Park Committee.

The chili feed will be held this Saturday at the Methodist Church in Carterville. It goes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., tickets are $5.
