Quapaw Police Force Cut-Backs

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A Four State community will have less police protection because of budget cuts. Quapaw City Council members voted to cut the town`s police force from three to two full-time officers in Tuesday night`s special meeting. Council members said a budget deficit of over $23,000 was the reason for the cutback. Three of the four reserve officers also resigned at the meeting. The Quapaw Police force has already seen cutbacks earlier this year. In January, the force was cut from 4 to 3 paid officers. The Ottawa County Sheriff`s Department has offered to assist patrol and respond to calls in Quapaw due to the cutbacks.
