A four-state Indian nation raises the stakes in a fight over gambling. The Wyandotte nation of Oklahoma is currently in a battle over casino gambling with the state of Kansas...and yesterday, members of the tribe brought 200 slot machines to a building they claim is on tribal land. A lawyer for the Wyandotte nation of Oklahoma says the government should welcome the casino, because the tribe plans to share gambling revenue with it. Some officials say the casino is incompatible with long term plans for the community. The tribe hopes the casino will hit the jackpot for its nearly 34-hundred members. Chief Leaford Bearskin says his tribe has approval for the casino from the department of the interior and he hopes to have the facility operating within the next few months.
