Suspect being sought

A security officer is injured while attempting to stop a robbery. The incident happened last night at JC Penneys in Joplins Northpark Mall. Officers say the suspect stole a pair of shoes from the store and fled to the parking lot. That`s when a security officer followed him to his car and the suspect drove off, dragging the officer about 800 feet to 3rd street. He was treated and released at Freeman Hospital. Officials have released a picture of the suspect. He is described as a white male, 5`8 to 5`10, weighing 175 pounds. He has large tattoos on both forearms.
