Shocking details are revealed about the drowing of a four-state teenager.A news conference was held in Newton County today to discuss the details in the case. It was originaly thought to be an accidental drowing, but now officials believe foul play may have been involved. 17-year old Jackie Turosik has been arrested and charged with first degree assault. In the drowning of 18-year old Justin Houk. Houk had been missing since Wednesday night when officials say he drowned in the waters of Shoal creek. Houk`s body was found Saturday around 11 a-m. Original reports revealed that only one girl was there when houk entered the water near Alan bridge, but now officials say nearly 15 people were at the scene, including turosik. Sheriff Ron Doerge says Turosik assaulted houk either before or during the time houk entered the water. Investigators say there was a large delay in time between when the crime happened and when it was reported officials say several inconsistencies in early information that was reported to them led to the arrest of Jackie Turosik and more details in Houk`s drowning are yet to come. So far Turosik has been the only person arrested in this case. There are several questions still left unanswered. Investigators say details in Houk`s death will not be released until all witness are interviewed. Turosik`s bond is currently set at one-million dollars. There is still no word from authorities if more charges will be filed against Turosik. An autopsy on Justin Houk`s body is currently underway in Springfield.
