Teen Abstinence

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Area leaders speak to teens about practicing abstinence until marriage. The Ozark Area Youth Coalition is spreading that message to local teens. Coalition members say practicing abstinence is the only true way to prevent teen pregnancies and sexual diseases. "It`s a real challenge because, sex is everywhere you can`t but yogurt without seeing sex on the advertisement. So we`re really trying to get out there. they are worth so much more than just sleeping with anyone that comes around. it`s definitely a challenge," said Melissa Winston of the Boys&Girls Club. The coalition held a conference today to present their gatekeeper award. The award honors an area business or organization that promotes the physical, intellectual and emotional development of children. This year`s recipient was Hollywood Northstar 14 theaters due to their ongoing efforts to keep area children out of "R" rated movies. Reported By: Brad Douglas
