A former Four State teacher has pleaded guilty to felony charges of attempted sexual exploitation of a child. Former Fort Scott teacher and coach, Randy Carter admitted his guilt this morning in a Bourbon County courtroom. On Friday Carter admitted he was secretly videotaping students while they were using a tanning bed in his home. Under the plea agreement, Carter pleaded guilty to three felony charges and two misdemeanor charges of eavesdropping. The prosecuting and defense attorney`s jointly recommended a sentence of a minimum of a 30 day lockdown in the county jail followed by 30 days work release. It was also recommended that he receive 24 months of intense supervised probation. Carter will also be evaluated for sexual addiction. Of course, it is up to the judge what Carter`s formal sentence will be, that sentencing is set for July 19th. Prosecuting Attorney Terri Johnson asked Judge Steven Hill to revoke Carter`s bond. The request came after Carter broke his bond by visiting a ballpark where one of the victim`s worked. Judge Hill decided not to revoke his bond, but he did give Carter a stern warning to stay clear of all victims. Reported By: Jennifer Haile
