Four State Soldiers Return Home

Updated: January 7, 2009
It`s a day of celebration in the four states. The soldiers stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba have returned home. Emotions were running high as the 414th military police unit exited the plane just after 7:30 Tuesday morning. It was the first time many of the men and women from the unit could see and embrace their loved ones since being called to active duty in January. Family and friends gathered at Joplin`s Regional Airport to welcome the men and women home from Camp X-Ray where they have been stationed for the past 6 months. The 414th unit has been keeping guard over detainees from the war on terrorism. Tuesday`s return was somewhat bittersweet...the unit will only be home for two weeks before heading out again to finish their duty stationed in Georgia. Reported By: Jennifer Haile
