By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
If youre a Missouri American Water Customer, you may notice a change in the taste of your water. Today, the company began using chloramines to tread the water produced at the Joplin treatment plant. Chloramines are a combination of chlorine and a small amount of ammonia. Chloramines are recognized as a safe and effective method of water treatment. Officials say you should notice an improvement in the taste and odor of the water in the next few days. More than 23,000 Missouri American Water Company customers in Joplin and Webb City will be affected by the change in treatment. Water customers are being notified of the change.
