A Lawrence County man is in stable condition after being shot in the chest.
Officials say 30-year old Jorge Luis Cecenas of Monett was shot during an altercation in Pierce city.
Witnesses say Cecenas arrived as preparations for a wedding were underway, and started choking the bride-to-be, Charlotte Neely-White.
Officials say Neely-White then ran inside to get a pistol and shot Cecenas in the chest.
Reports indicate the man then stole the bride`s vehicle and drove through town honking and waving an american flag.
Police caught up with him in Monett and arrested him.
Cecenas is now in a springfield hospital.
Police say, Neely-White`s wedding went on as planned.
