Three local men have pleaded guilty to stealing and torturing a calf on the banks of Elk River. Brent Colville, 27, of Pineville, Jeff East, 27, of Garfield, Arkansas, and Rick Roark, 27, of Anderson, Missouri, have entered guilty pleas as part of a plea agreement with the McDonald County Prosecutor. They were sentenced to three years supervised probation, a $1000 fine each, and 300 hours of community service. The men had been charged with felony stealing and animal abuse. Investigators say the men attempted to drown or beat to death a three week old calf while they were canoeing along Elk River over Memorial Day weekend. According to investigators, the men say they were intoxicated at the time of the incident. The suspects were scheduled to be in court on Monday. Reported By: Robin Rogers
