Animal Abuse Charges Dropped

Several charges of animal abuse have been dropped against a Four State resident. 52-year old Charles Mason of Southwest City pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of animal abuse in McDonald County Circuit Court. Mason received a sentence of one year unsupervised probation and was ordered to pay court costs. Felony charges and several misdemeanor counts were dropped following an investigation by a Humane Society investigator. Mason had been accused of neglecting several adult dogs and puppies at his home. Reported By: Jim Jackson
