Updated: January 7, 2009
A life-saving service has created some controversy in one four-state county. Officials with Jasper County 911 services have had several problems arise recently. Today County Commissioners met with the 911 board, the Health Department, road crews, and the Assessors Office to resolve issues. The group discussed address problems, missing signs, and confusion on electronic maps. Ron Boyer, the Jasper County 911 Executive Director, says, "Some decisions may seem illogical one at a time to the average citizen in the grand scheme of things it makes more sense with regard to emergency services. Nine-one-one representatives are going back to their administrative board to share the committee`s input. The group plans to meet again to follow up on these problems. Reported By: Sheradee Scott
