West Nile Virus Found in Oklahoma

The West Nile Virus is making its way to the Four State area. The Oklahoma state Department of Health said today that nine more cases of the West Nile Virus have been confirmed in the state. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms nine dead birds found in five counties had the potentially deadly virus. The birds were found in Tulsa, Wagoner, Okmulgee and Pittsburg counties in eastern Oklahoma and in Carter County in Southern Oklahoma. The first confirmed case of the West Nile Virus was in a dead crow found in Tulsa on July 18th. Anyone who sees dead birds, especially crows, blue jays, hawks, owls and eagles, are asked to call 1-800-990-CROW to report the sighting.
