Test scores are in and one area high school is not pleased with the results. The 2002 map test results are in and some of the scores for Joplin High School are lower than they`ve been in several years.
The 10th grade science and math levels were down from previous years even falling below state averages in some categories.
Administrators are looking for ways to improve the numbers.
"Find out the causes for that, look for all the reasons for that. There could be a lot of different reasons, probably a combination of reasons but i know that they will ralley the students and teachesrs, administration and they will make those gains happen next year," said Superintendent Dr. Jim Simpson.
The Joplin R-8 Elementary Schools also received their numbers today.
School adminstrators say they are happy with those results. Grades three and four all noticed increases in their scores. Teachers contribute the increase to the new trek program where volunteers help children learn to read.
