Some four-state Friday night performers are asking for your support. The Joplin High School Marching Band is raising money to perform at the Target Thanksgiving Day parade in Chicago. Tomorrow at Memorial Hall band boosters will be holding their "Give Me Some Lip" fundraiser. The night will include a silent and live auction, spaghetti dinner, and lip-sync performances from students. Organizers say the parade is a great place for the musicians to showcase their talent and learn important qualities. "It helps develop leadership in them and some independence, we leave Wednesday and come back Saturday, it`s really a great experience for them," says Jane Obert, event organizer The band has to raise sixty thousand dollars by the end of september to play in the parade. They are currently twenty thousand dollars away from that goal. The event starts tomorrow night at four p.m. Dinner will run from 5:30 to 7:30. Cost of tickets is five dollars.
