Sobriety Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint this weekend, puts several drivers behing bars. The Joplin Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint Friday. Officers checked a total of 581 vehicles and made eight DWI arrests. The department also issued 22 traffic tickets, seven city complaint tickets, and 20 arrests for various offences. The check point began at 10 p.m. Friday night and lasted until 2 a.m. Officers say the checkpoint was successful, and appreciate everyone`s patience. Reported By:Sarah Kyle
