Fire officials determine the cause of a blaze that ripped through a four state manufacturing plant. One day after a fire gutted the Eagle-Picher plant in Seneca, officials are ruling the blaze accidental. Today the Missouri Fire Marshall and representatives from the ATF performed tests and several walk-throughs to determine if the area is safe. They determined that the fire was started by a chemical reaction caused by a case of leaking batteries. The say the high winds then caused the blaze to quickly spread. Seneca Fire Chief Chris Rogers said yesterday`s fire took a team effort to control. "I don`t know that anybody`s prepared for a fire this size. All you can do is the best that you can do with equipment you have and the personnel you have." Officials say the fire started in a secluded room where the batteries were waiting to be shipped.
