On-line Shopping Security

Updated: January 7, 2009
The holiday season is in full swing and with the large number of people in the stores you may prefer to do your shopping at home. If the crowds make you a bit claustrophobic, there`s another alternative. Shopping On-line. To some that`s even more frightening, but experts say you don`t have to be worried about identity theft as long as you`re shopping with a well known and respected company. President of Sunrise Media Group Inc, Doug Hunt, says, "Do your research, make sure that the website you`re on to purchase goods and services is a legitimate company. If you have any concern what so ever and you don`t think that they`re a legitimate company, simply don`t buy!" If you`re having difficulties with a seller after speaking with them, don`t pay your credit card charges right away. Under the U.S. Fair Credit Billing Act you can only dispute charges that have not been paid. Reported by: Jennifer Grannan
