Ottawa County deputies find more than they bargained for during a routine drug bust.
The Ottawa County Sheriff`s Department received information this weekend from the Delaware County`s Sheriff`s office about a possible methamphetamine lab in the county, but when they arrived they were in for a surprise.
26 year old Mollie Judd and 47 year old Jimmie Cox, both of Fairland, were arrested in the matter. Both are facing various charges including attempting to manufacture meth, trafficiking meth, and child endangerment. They are also facing several other weapons and drug charges.
Officers seized over 24-grams of methamphetamines along with $2,500 cash at the scene, but one of the most surprising finds was over 60 fire arms.
Ottawa County Sheriff, Dennis King says there`s a possibility that some of the serial numbers on the guns may have been altered. He is currently working with ATF agents to determine the origin of the weapons.
While officials say it`s common to find guns when serving a search warrant at a suspected meth lab, the sheriff says this is the largest single weapon seizure he has ever been a part of.
