KBI Sex Offender List

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
It may now be easier to determine if a sex offender is living in your neighborhood. That`s because the Kansas Bureau of Investigation has launched a new website. Anyone with internet access can view a map of their neighborhood. On the map, you can see the exact location of registered sex offenders` homes. Local police say the new service from will be helpful to the community, but it isn`t fool proof. "I think that anytime we can identify who the sex offenders are and where they are it`s a benefit to the community. The one thing i would caution is they do self report so all of the information may not be 100% accurate,"said Mike Hall, Pittsburg Police Chief. The data support center at the University of Kansas developed the mapping system. To view the website go to www.accesskansas.org and follow the links. Reported By: Jennifer Grannan
