Concert Pay

The music has faded from a four-state music festival,but money matters continue to plague concert promoters. Holding a concert for thousands of people requires many helping hands. But some businesses that offered their services at the Route 66 Music Festival say they are still empty handed. Local businesses including the Sunrise Media Group are hopeful that although the concert isn`t being held in Joplin this year,they might still receive what they`re owed. "As it stands right now, we do have an outstanding balance with Route 66 Music Festival. We realize we`re not the only ones in that boat. There are several others vendors and that`s unfortuante for them as well as us. We certainly hope that can get resolved in the not too distant future and everybody can be back on board and part of a powerful econmic development tool,"said Doug Hunt, Sunrise Media Group. Miners Ice, Garry`s Golf, and Sign Designs are also businesses that say they still haven`t received payment from festival organizers.
