Uninsured Motorists

Updated: January 7, 2009
One four state woman is hoping her battle against uninsured motorists will get the green light with Missouri lawmakers. Joplin resident Sandra Gillings says an uninsured motorist hit her parked car at 55 miles an hour late last year. Gillings was inside the car at the time, along with her fiance and an infant. The accident caused extensive damage to the car, and left her with uncontrollable seizures. Gillings says uninsured auto accidents like this happen every day to people all over the four states. "It hurts me because I know the uninsured motorists has done a lot of damage. I`m only one person that has been harmed," she said. Gillings says she plans to start a petition to get more uninsured drivers off the roadways. Reported by: Ryan Loyd
