Joplin Man Pleads Not Guilty

A Joplin man says he`s not guilty of kicking his girlfriend and trying to set her on fire. 24-year old Cletis R. Roland faces five traffic related charges and a first-degree assault charge in connection with a high speed car chase last month. Roland entered that plea in Jasper County Court today. Roland led police on a high-speed chase through parts of Joplin and western Jasper County before being stopped north of Joplin. He`ll be back in court on September 18th on traffic related charges, which include driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. He`ll be back in court on the assault charge on September 19th.
