A four state man is sentenced in connection with the death of a friend.
Thirty year old Christopher Clark of Springfield pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, and was sentenced to spend a total of 12 years in prison. Clark was sentenced to seven years for the charge of involuntary manslaughter and five years for the charge of possession of a controlled substance. Both prison terms are the maximum sentence allowed for each charge. Those charges stem from an incident in November of 2001 when an explosion inside Clark`s car claimed the life of Brandon Riffell, of
Aurora, Missouri. Investigators say the explosion happened when a propane tank containing anhydrous ammonia ruptured in the back of the car the two men were driving in.
